WEDDING IN AN OLD VILLA IN THE TIBIDABO, BARCELONA

Claudia and Mirko are two talented italian journalists. Claudia writes the articles and Mirko takes the photographs. They’re an amazing couple who travels the world telling stories. When they first contacted me I was intimidated by the quality of Mirko’s work. He is really good telling stories through his pictures. But also it was very exciting, having someone so good trust you with such an important task as capturing all the emotions and beauty of one big day in their lives fills you with lots of good energy.

I headed to Gràcia, one of the coolest areas in Barcelona, home of artists of all sorts, where (of course) they live. The neighborhood is full of cute little stores next to old markets and lots of lively bars. A mix of the old and the new in lots of narrow streets to get lost wandering. Mirko was getting ready at their cute apartment with a few friends from Italy.

A few laughs and a couple of rum shots I took the train to Villa Maria, an early 20th century beautiful house in the Vallvidrera mountains, near the Tibidabo. The area is full of these old gorgeous houses. Claudia was already there with her friends from Food and Event that decorated the house and ceremony and the catering, Moncho’s, that did an amazing job serving one of the best dinners I’ve seen at a wedding.

The ceremony was short but emotional, with friends from all over the world, and the party was… wait for it… LEGENDARY! The DJ was incredible at keeping people dancing till morning, with a express friendly visit from the police to say congrats to the couple. Like I said, legendary.
